Automatic barriers
A boom that decides who gets in. The simplest way to make a car park yours rather than the whole street's.

A barrier goes where you need to close a driveway rather than an opening: a residential courtyard, a shop car park, the entrance to a company site. It will not stop anyone on foot - its job is to keep other people's cars out.
The key parameter is not boom length but duty cycle: the share of time the motor can run without pausing to cool. 50% is enough for a courtyard with a few dozen entries a day; 80-100% is needed where cars arrive in a stream - an office block, a paid car park, a factory gate.
The second parameter is speed. Standard models raise the boom in about 5 seconds, which is fine for a courtyard. High-speed versions do it in 1.5-3 seconds: where hundreds of cars pass daily, a few seconds add up to a queue.
Boom length follows the driveway width: 3-4 metres for an ordinary courtyard, 5-6 for a wide entrance, up to 9 metres for industrial gates. Booms can have rubber edging, lighting, a skirt underneath or a resting post for the longest spans.
Everything runs on 230 V - no separate power line is needed. Brushless motors cost more but have no brushes to replace and tolerate continuous duty, which is why they go on 100% intensity sites.
Control is by remote, button, key switch, keypad or card reader. Residential buildings usually take a remote per flat; businesses prefer cards or plate recognition, since a remote is easy to hand on to someone else.
Why this solution
- Keeps other people's cars off your driveway and car park
- Duty cycle matched to the real flow of vehicles
- Runs on 230 V - no separate power line needed
- Booms from 3 to 9 metres to suit the driveway
- Photocells stop the boom coming down on a car
- Servicing and repair of the automation is on us too

questions
Frequently asked questions
Which barrier suits a residential courtyard?
For most courtyards a 50% duty model with a 4-5 metre boom is enough - the GANT Strike level. A pricier brushless motor pays off only when entries really are numerous: hundreds a day, not dozens.
What happens if the boom comes down while a car is under it?
That is what photocells are for: a beam across the driveway keeps the boom up while it is broken. This is not the place to save money - without them a barrier will eventually hit a car. We always fit them.
Does the barrier work during a power cut?
The motor has a key release - the boom is raised by hand and left open. Where cuts are frequent we fit a battery backup that keeps the barrier working while the power is off.
How long does installation take?
The installation itself usually takes a day. The preparation takes longer: a barrier needs a foundation and a cable run, and if neither exists yet that adds work. Our specialist assesses this at the measurement.
Can the barrier be opened from a phone?
Yes, via a GSM module: the barrier opens on a call from an approved number. For residential buildings that avoids handing out and losing remotes - the list is edited centrally.
